Park Wish List
Friends of Cape Florida, a non-profit Citizen Support Organization, was formed to support Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park as it recovered from Hurricane Andrew in September 1992.
In conjunction with the American Littoral Society and many volunteers, Cape Florida is restoring the park area to it's native habitat. This was no small feat considering that prior to Hurricane Andrew, the park was overrun with many exotics, including Australian Pine. An ongoing process, our volunteers continue to work towards restoring and maintaining this native area and historic lighthouse.
